Taste Accident

Drawing inspiration from forms deeply rooted in his personal space and childhood, Luan Bajraktari reimagines them through different materials, seeking to uncover their deeper significance. The artist's work reflects on the notion of home from a diasporic perspective, transforming everyday objects to examine our connections to them. His sculptural installations challenge conventional binaries, such as usefulness versus uselessness and materiality versus immateriality, prompting a reevaluation of the meanings we attach to ordinary items. Objects once infused with emotional attachment — through memory, use, or heritage — transcend their functional roles to inhabit a new conceptual space. Taste Accident invites reflection, encouraging a heightened awareness of one's surroundings and the layers of meaning within familiar forms. In exploring the intersection of personal and collective experiences, Bajraktari's work engages with cultural practices and traditions that shape our understanding of identity and belonging.
